Xiao Qian is one wizard of Chinese Literature in the twentieth century. His literary works across a wide literature field, and has made impressive achievements. Alone in terms of fictions, as a writer Xiao Qian has a unique creative personality, further more we can not ignore he has contributed to Chinese modern literature, it's worth to in-depth study. Xiao Qian's life has been a dense legend, he called himself as a "Traveler without a Map", then comprehensive surveying his novels, and he can also be referred to as "travel literature without a map."It can be said Xiao Qian has achieved literary success thanks to the "Beijing School", simultaneously his participation and creativity has enriched and added to the "Beijing School" cultural strength and literary achievements. He was originally set foot in the literary world as a "Beijing School" novelist, and he has received appreciation, guide and support from the "Beijing School" master. Of course Xiao Qian actively participated in the "Beijing School" literary activity during its flourishing period in the thirties. His novels are similar to the "Beijing School" novel traits on subject selection, the ideological and aesthetic pursuit, moreover "aspire after pure literary taste", in addition take the initiative away from the fierce political struggle. So they are known as the "lyrical poetry" of novels.Because of the complexity of Xiao Qian's novels, it's difficult to simply to tie him under the "Beijing School" writers. That he has joined in the "Beijing School" is a specific time limit. With the deepening national crisis,The consciousnesses of participation in social life become much stronger, Xiao Qian has consciously stepped out of the childhood depression world, shifted his attention to the real broader life, and criticism pointed at the dark social phenomena. Xiao Qian has said:"he has cast off a lot of the "New Moon breath' that came from Beijing……I know the importance of the struggling against imperialism and feudalism." His fictions have begun to involve in grand themes such as the national war and social movements, showed a clear tendency to realism, and revealed trend closer to the real life and the times mainstream. Especially his unique religious theme fictions can be regarded as that Xiao Qian has completely got out of "the cold world under the eaves", and has drawn materials from the real society. For the time being, Xiao Qian was completely beyond the relative detached of the aesthetic pursuit of "Beijing School". He has opened up a literary world which had belonged to his own.As a "free flying juvenile rover", in the process of the wind and rain drifting, young Xiao Qian had went through the vicissitudes of life and inconstancy of human relationships. But he has always adhered to the hearts of the faith, has always insisted on the pursuit of the true, the good and the beautiful. His literary world is comprised by his own life experience and his mentality course. Finally, Xiao Qian has built a unique home belonging to his soul, and built the eternal "Dream of the Valley" belonging to the human.
