Saussure has always been regarded as "the father of modern linguistics", but in fact, before Saussure, Poland — Russian linguist Baudouin has put forward the core view of the theory of general linguistics. According to sorting out and interpretating his general linguistics thought,we find that Baudouin has obvious foresight in general linguistic thought, and there are many similarities with Saussure's linguistic theory. This makes us question the originality of Saussure's linguistic thought, and reconsider his contribution to Linguistics and its position in the history of linguistics. As the "General Linguistics" (translated by Gao Mingkai),"General Linguistics"(Yu Xiuying manuscript finishing) and "general linguistics papers" (translated by Yang Yanchun) the main reference,we make the collation and comparison of Saussure's and Baudouin's linguistic thought, and reveals the similarity of the two linguistists' theories. From the comparison results we found that the concept or idea of common linguistics, such as classification of language and speech, static and dynamic linguistic as well as phonemes. Although the two are not entirely consistent in the expression, in Baudouin's paper we can find corresponding expression. This study cited Saussure's and Baudouin's many original literature material as examples, and finally shows that Saussure's linguistic views do not have great innovation compared with Baudouin, who is a pioneer in general linguistics theory. Saussure's contribution to linguistics should be more reflected in the system of collation and dissemination of general linguistic theories. This study mainly includes three parts: 1. the origin of the linguistics comparation between Saussure and Baudouin, and discussing the possibility of Saussure's linguistic thought drawing lesson from Baudouin, including three aspects: (1) Saussure personal academic creativity and mental state to doubt about its original theory; (2)The foundation and process of "the Course of General Linguistics"; (3) Baudouin and Saussure's academic exchanges. 2. Comparison between Saussure and Baudouin's specific linguistic thoughts, including six aspects: the object of linguistics and its relationship with other disciplines, language and speech, static and dynamic, language symbols and the view of language system, phonetics and the relationship between language and writing. There are some linguistic similarities and differences between Saussure and Bodoun. 3. Summarization the influence of Saussure's and Baudouin's linguistic thoughts in the academic field, analyzing the reasons for the difference between the two linguistists, and reflecting on the evaluation of Saussure's achievements. On the basis of Saussure and Baudouin's statements, this paper is to prove the similarities of the two linguistic theory, so the conclusion is more reliable. This study combines the effects directly and from the background, and combines personal and historical academic contribution. The study emphasizes the historical influence to individual research, so it will be conducive to a more objective evaluation of contribution or status about a scholar or a linguistic theory in the linguistic history.
