Research On The Evolution Of Modern Chinese Choice Construction

This thesis is on the basis of construction grammar theory,according to their specific marking phrases and unique form-meaning pair,investigating the“huozhe(??)”construction,“yaome(??)”construction and“shi...haishi...(?…??…)”construction in detail.Roughly analyzing diachronic evolution process of chosen construction in modern Chinese.In addition to the“introduction"and"conclusion”chapters,this thesis is divided into four chaptersand makes a discussion from four aspects that are the diachronic evolution of“huozhe(??)”construction,“yaome(??)”construction and“shi...haishi...(?…??…)”construction and a comparison of the three kinds of construction.“Introduction” illustrates the significance of the selected subject,present research condition,definition of chosen construction,research method and the sources of corpus.“Conclusion” summarized the previous chapters and pointed out the insufficiency of this paper.Chapter one is“‘huozhe(??)'construction evolution research”.This chapter mainly discusses the diachronic evolution and evolution reason of“huozhe(??)”construction.Firstly,describe this construction from Pre-qin and Han dynasty,Tang and Song dynasty,Yuan,Ming,Qing to contemporary.Following on that,we find that“huozhe(??)”fixed from adverb structure to adverb,then emerged connective use of adverb and conjunction.Pronoun changed to conjunction in the following process,and the usage of conjunction and adverb retained in modern Chinese.Finally,analyzing the grammatical motivation of“huozhe(??)”and“huozhe...huozhe...(??…??…)”construction.Explain syntax location,usage rate and reanalysis respectively.Chapter two is“‘yaome(??)'construction evolution research”.This chapter mainly discusses the diachronic evolution and evolution reason of“yaome(??)”construction.Firstly,start from Ming dynasty,present the change of“yaome(??)”in Ming,Qing dynasty,modern history and contemporary.Following on that,wefound that conjunction“yaome(??)”belongs to the grammaticalization of cross layer structure.Finally,conduct motivational analysis of“yaome...yaome...(??…??…)”.Examine the syntax location change,increasing usage rate and evolution of audio principle respectively.Chapter three is“‘shi...haishi...(?…??…)'construction evolution research”.This chapter mainly process the motivation analysis of“shi(?)”,“haishi(??)”and“shi...haishi...(?…??…)”construction,illustrates in reanalyze and usage rate.During the process,we found that this construction relate to replacement of terms.It first emerged in Pre-qin and Han dynasty,the mark word is“qi(?)”,“jiang(?)”,“qie(?)”,“yi(?)”,“yi(?)”,“wang(?)”,“wang(?)”,while were replaced by“wei(?)”,"jiang(?)”etc in northern and southern dynasties.In Tang and Song dynasty,“shi(?)”and“haishi(??)”emerged in this construction,and retained to contemporary as marking word through the steady development of Song and Qing dynasty consolidate period.Finally,conduct grammar motivation analysis to“shi(?)”,“haishi(??)”and“shi...haishi...(?…??…)”construction.Discuss the syntax format,coagulability,and using rate respectively.Chapter four is “the comparison of chosen construction”.This chapter compares the three chosen constructions that mentioned above from the evolution of syntactic structure,chosen construction marking word evolution and chosen meaning intensity.Through comparison find that every construction has its own unique construction meaning except indicates chosen relationship.The conclusion part conclude the evolution of“huozhe(??)”construction,“yaome(??)”construction and“shi...haishi...(?…??…)”construction.
