Throughout the history of Western Music.French music is very important.The formation of French Flute School is called as the golden period of flute development history.The emerging of a large number of outstanding flute performers and educators during 19 th and 20 th century facilitated the formation of French Flute School.The Paris Conservatory of Music with long history is the model of 19 th century music education of Europe that is possesses scientific and systematic education theory and ideal.Jules Mouquet became a harmonics professor of Paris Conservatory of Music in 1913.This flute sonata La Fl?te de Pan was created in 1906 and was the most famous master work of Jules Mouquet.The song has two versions,orchestra accompaniment and piano accompaniment.All three movements manifest different styles according to the them.The work has exquisite melody,abundant and clear rhythm,and gorgeous and superior technique,vividly illustrating the passion,kind,and sentimentality characteristics of the semi-deity semi-beast Pan in ancient Greek mythology.The song was popular among professions and students of French Flute School at then and was spread for hundreds of years,becoming a popular play piece in global flute concerts and competitions.This thesis analyzes and explores through the time characteristics,composition background,musical form and structure and other aspects.Meanwhile,the author's personal experience in learning and practicing flute also is included so as to better manifest the style and emotion of the work.This research aims to enabling people to better learn the value of La Fl?te de Pan.
