Tibetan painting sculpture art has long history,has important position in human civilization,the Tibetan as an important learning,but also more and more refined of Tibetan painting,sculpture and research.The general Tibetan art history study mainly from the text and image study,rarely to art materials science research,because of its involving multiple disciplines,so there is very little of this research.According to myself on the basis of long-term practice,through access to a lot of technical literature,to make a simple analysis of the Tibetan traditional painting,sculpture and various materials,some materials in the process of research involves material technology,other national regions are conducted analyses,hope for learn from other ethnic areas using the material process each other,This article is divided into three parts,respectively is painting materials,sculpture materials,materials science research significance.Painting class mainly introduced from the base material to decorate auxiliary material,analyze material properties,compared with other ethnic minority areas,and so on,involving the paint,mural production,silk cotton wool fabric,leather,metal,ceramics,Tibetan paper and painting tools production,etc.Sculpture materials can be divided into the clay sculpture,metal,wood carvings,stone carvings,etc.,involves the mud materials,shaping technique,clay sculpture,a new skill,butter sculpture,metal processing,metal materials research skills,wood material and stone material analysis,carving techniques,the fourth chapter of the material science research significance is mainly discussed the material science analysis in the role of the development and protection,how through understanding the material properties to protect cultural relics,second is concluded that the era of cultural relics,authenticity through material,third is to the change of Tibetan painting plastic art and machine be used for reference.The article involves multiple disciplines.
