A Survey Of College Students' Public English Learning Strategies In Tibet

With the informatization of our social life and the development of economic globalization,language communication is becoming more and more important.English as one of the most important information carriers has become the most widely used language everywhere.At the same time,the demand of human resources that have a good master in English increase greatly as with the carrying out of the Great West Development Strategy and the B&R.It's the opportunity and challenge to the undergraduates,who study in Tibetan region.It has become an important problem to cultivate the internationalized talents that meet the demand of contemporary social development in Tibet,which develop backward in economy and education.In resent 10 years,the quantity of the research on the Tibetan religion undergraduates has increased in some extent.At the same time,the research on learning strategies has become a hot spot to the researchers.However,it is rare to see them to take the whole undergraduates,who study in Tibetan region as the research object and research their English learning condition.Although Tibet is a main gathering place of the Tibetan,all ethnic groups have lived together and have developed a close relationship with each other after long historical development.The undergraduates in Tibetan religion are made up of thelocal Tibetan and other ethnic groups in which Han takes up a large part.Therefore,it is necessary to take the whole undergraduates into consideration when we take a research in Tibetan region universities in their English strategies.The current English condition of Tibetan religion university undergraduates is serious,especially in the way they learn English and the using of their English strategies.Therefore,I think it's necessary to take a deep research on the English strategies of the whole undergraduates who study in Tibetan religion.I'll take the undergraduates in the Tibet University for example.The Tibet University is a Full-time ordinary institution of higher learning in Tibet Autonomous Region.By means of the questionnaire survey and literature search,I try to acquire the information about the undergraduates' current situation of the English learning strategies and analyze the factors that may influence on the usage of English strategies.I try to discover some rules of the undergraduates' English learning strategies in the Tibet University so that we can find an appropriate way to teach students.At last,I'll provide some pieces of advice in the view of English learning strategies to improve teachers' teaching quality level and their teaching efficiency and to raise the English level of the whole undergraduates.
