Oriental Fantasy From A Western Perspective

This paper analyzes two movies of the "life of Pi"(hereinafter referred to as < PI >)and the jungle book.They are a special kind of Oriental fantasy story as the blueprint for the creation of the fantasy film in Western fantasy film.The image creation and visual metaphor,symbiotic harmony but not sameness and harmony self identity,explores the cultural conflict and how they combined the West and self realization of three aspects,make the film showing a unique charm of oriental aesthetics.The full text is divided into four parts: introduction,briefly reviewed the status and recent achievements of research work on the Western Fantasy Film and film < PI > and the jungle book,this paper puts forward the research characteristic and innovation.The first chapter is divided into two parts,first analyzes the creation and animal metaphor the image of the two film,the second part analyzes the cultural conflicts between eastern and Western architecture metaphor from the story.The second chapter from the people "harmony but not Sameness" to the harmonious coexistence between man and nature two aspects of analysis of the two films showing the Oriental natural views.The third chapter is to pursue things the self identification and self realization based on discuss how the heroine in the adventure to find themselves and realize their value of life.In the conclusion part,combined with the China fantasy film the current development status,analysis of the gap between the two films,emphasize domestic films should grasp their own cultural connotation,show the unique oriental aesthetics.
