The Translation Of Poetry In Chinese And English Communication And Its Coping Strategies

This report is a simulation practice report based on the study of the Chinese poetry Competition.And I pick up some typical poeties from this progrem to discuss some difficuties and strategies about translating these poetries.The report will describe the preparatory process before the interpretation and the process of interpreting.In the case study part,I will focus on the analysis of the difficult problems in the poetry interpreting:to many Chinese modal particle;the unidentified subjects and conjunction;no relative words in English;the lack of understanding of the source language;the untranslatability of poetry.Moreover,this report will give some strategies to deal with those difficuties:free translation;supplement the subjet and conjunction;equivalent translation;literal translation and paraphrase.This paper aims at attracting interpreters' interest about translating poetries and give some suggestions and skills to the interpreters.
