Director Makoto Shinkai began to create his first animation in 1990 s.The third wave of animation provided him with an opportunity and the rise of CG animation made his early independent creation possible.From 70 s to 90 s,the Japanese Animation Festival has gradually developed and matured,which provided a platform for the new director like Makoto Shinkai to show themselves.The national strategy of "Culture-Nurtured Country" and related industrial policies provided the commercial animated films with two aspects of material security: capital and market.Makoto Shinkai's animated films which based on the basis of " Mononoaware " and "wabi-sabi " and " yugen " aesthetic consciousness have derived the aesthetic taste and aesthetic ideal of sorrowful beauty,natural beauty,implicit beauty.Simultaneously they have broken the general aesthetic characteristics of the funny,fiction and straightforwardness of the animated films,and then created a new style of art.The choice of the subject and the use of the image reflect a strong sadness of "sorrowful beauty";In form,the works seek the essence of the picture,music and narrative,which emphasizes a kind of "natural beauty";In the expression of artistic conception,a kind of "implicit beauty" is produced by means of symbolism,poetic use and literary language.
