The Study Of Attitude Resources In The Film Review Of The Evaluation Theory ("Jinling Thirteen")

Based on Halliday's SFL,AT expands and improves the interpersonal meaning.AT consists of three sub-systems.And the three sub-systems are Attitude,Engagement and Graduation.Attitude is the core of AT.Movie reviewers tend to adopt lots of appraisal resources in their movie reviews,especially attitudinal resources.Edited by the famous director Zhang Yimou,The Flowers of War attracted the attention of many famous scholars and fans.Therefore,its movie reviews have extremely important research value.Analyzing 40 selected movie reviews of The Flowers of War,the author adopts both quantitative method and qualitative method to study attitudinal resources under the framework of AT.Through systematically analyzing,the author has drawn the following conclusions.Firstly,movie reviewers mainly evaluate the movie from four aspects,which are the overall evaluation,the evaluation of the plot and scene,the evaluation of the characters and the evaluation of the staff.Secondly,movie reviewers choose different kinds of attitudinal resources to evaluate different aspects of the movie.Thirdly,there are differences in the distribution of different attitudinal resources in the movie review.The author uses the new method to have a further research on the movie review in this paper.Hope to provide new framework and ideas to the further study of evaluation discourse.
