The Formation Of The Schema

Since the first splendid tomb in Hebei Xuanhua has been excavated in 1971,researches about the tombs in Xuanhua was growing substantially and variously during the 46 years.However,there are still many aspects to be researched.The special images researched in this passage appeared in different family tombs in Xuanhua,and their forms are relatively uniform,which attracted my attention.Thereare fragmentary discussion and speculations in existing research but lacking systematically study,and also no certain conclusions was proposed about them in the academic circle.Therefore,there are still many blank areas about Xuanhua tombs of Liao dynasty.After browsing literatures of tombs in Liao,Song,Xixia,Jin dynastys and former researches about the double-head man,cocks and dogs,chinese maids' images,the old-man images,folk funeral customs,and Tantric Buddhism,this passage discussed the special images appeared in Xuanhua Liao tombs.This kind of image was found in M2,M5,?:M2,and two tombs excavated in 2006 and 2013.This study mainly took method of iconology to find logic relation between the kind of images.Besides that,philological method was used to find deep meaning behind the images and its appearing laws.Finally,the reason why these images appearing in Xuanhua Liao tombs was summarized.
