Drama Plays The Study Of Shakespeare

There are more than 80 “Shakespearean Xiqu” putting on the stage in China by now.Among them,there are 22 local operas which have adapted for 17 plays.This paper makes an in-depth study on the production,morphology,characteristics and realistic significance of the phenomenon of "Shakespearean Xiqu",and elaborates the works of Shakespearean Xiqu from the beginning of last century to 2016.On this basis,combined with the concept of "intercultural theater" and "modern Xiqu",this paper analyzes the internal ideological reasons,external artistic forms and actual social value of the Shakespearean Xiqu.Then,using the development view to evaluate the phenomenon of Shakespearean Xiqu against the background of the cultural exchange between east and west,and study on the realistic significance of the Xiqu art which grafts western classical drama and absorbs from the contemporary life.This paper embarks on the "Shakespearean Xiqu" reality,discusses the historical process,cultural foundation,the adaptation method,artistic characteristics and realistic significance of"Shakespearean Xiqu",and involves the question about Chinese opera adapting foreign plays under the view of intercultural communication.Chapter one elaborates the history of“Shakespearean Xiqu”,and summarizes the achievements on its academic researches in different historical stages.Chapter two analyzes the terms of social,ideological,artistic of "Shakespearean Xiqu",and deems that it is an actively trying for survive under local opera's decline.The change of social formation connects with people's thought,which inevitably leads to the change of artistic aesthetics and content.The reasons of why Xiqu can portray Shakespeare are including the development of Xiqu's own art form,the introduction of western drama concepts,and the similarities between Xiqu and Shakespeare.The common feature of opera and Shakespeare is that they both value the completeness of a story and exist a happy ending.The structural features of the spatio-temporal free transformation of Shakespeare's plays are coinciding with the "virtuality" of Xiqu stage.The content of the humanistic ideology of Shakespeare is consistent with the ideological emancipation of Chinese society after the reform and opening up.Chapter three summarizes the adaptation method of "Shakespearean Xiqu",which mainly focuses on the main line and simplifies the plot,keeping the content while change the details,combining the characters and strengthening the voice dance.Chapter four analyses the artistic features of the adapted works,and concludes that “Shakespearean Xiqu” presents the thought form of modernization and diversification as a whole with "people-oriented","feeling multiplication" intrinsic aesthetic tendency,and shows the combination of "freehand brushwork and realistic","new program","rich language" on processing art technique.That intensively reflects on the promote of intrinsic drama and external viewing.Chapter five on the basis of reality thinks that the appearance of “Shakespearean Xiqu” is not "freak out" or "sensationalist",but the modernization actively trying of classical opera,the success model of cross-cultural drama,and the new path of chinization for Shakespeare's plays.In conclusion,Shakespearean Xiqu is not only has high artistic value,but also has profound social significance.
