As a special subject,narratology is still particularly young,but the introduction of the concept of narrative into the film not only extends the research field of narratology,but also increases the possibility of the film narration itself.Since the date of birth,the film has always followed the linear logical sequence of the development of the story.However,as a relatively free art of time and space,the film is doomed to be incapable of falling into a fixed,single and rigid linear space-time range.Therefore,in the field of film,the narrative structure began to innovate and break through.No matter in theory or practice,some new weather has appeared,and the trend of the application of nonlinear narrative structure has been gradually formed.Looking back on the course of film development,it is not difficult to find out how many excellent film people explore the nonlinear narrative structure,and it is the continuous emergence of these classic films,which have promoted the development and progress of nonlinear narrative films.The way of non-linear narrative is becoming more diverse and flexible,and the audience’s acceptance is more and more extensive.This paper firstly paves the way for the definition of the concept of narrative,linear and nonlinear narrative,and then uses the method of case analysis to discuss the various methods of expression of the nonlinear narrative structure in the film and how to apply the nonlinear narrative in the suspense film to achieve better narrative effect.Finally,it combines with the short film I took to achieve the combination of theory and practice.Objective.
