A Study Of English Translation Of Frontier Poetry In The Tang Dynasty

This paper mainly focuses on translating the works of frontier-style poetries in the Tang Dynasty.Through the classification and comparative study for English translating the typical frontier-style poetry of the Tang Dynasty,it is analyzed the specific English translation strategy and the best English translation method for the frontier-style proprietress Tang Dynasty.The article is divided into this following chapters:First chapter is by comparing and analyzing the differences between Chinese and English classical rhythmic poetry in terms of level,tone and rhyme,it explains the differences and respective characteristics in the Rhythm of Classical Rhythm Poems under both Chinese and English languages.First of all,the difference between Chinese-poem tonality and English-poem tonality is mainly reflected in its basic units of composition and transformation forms,the former is composed of four tones of Chinese pronunciation and has a fixed pattern,while the latter is composed of the heavy and heavy syllables of English words,with no fixed pattern.the transformation forms of the former is that changs the “level and oblique”fixed pattern on the basic of the original fixed pattern through a series of ways,such as "obliquity",while the change of tonal pattern is mainly reflected in the number of steps and the changes of the lattice syllable.Secondly,in terms of rhyme,the rhyme is mainly level rhyme,one rhyme in the end,rhyme on the end of even-numbered sentences,the first sentence may rhyme,also it may not rhyme.The rhyme position of English is not fixed,there is alliteration,ventral rhyme and final rhyme,among them,the final rhyme need not one rhyme in the end,it can change regularly,and it can divide into three kinds of rhyme.Based on the analysis of the characteristics and differences between the two kinds of poem,it aims at providing a theoretical framework for the analysis of the rhythm of the Tang Dynasty frontier-style poems.Second chapter analyzes comparatively the typical frontier-style poetries in Tang Dynasty from three aspects: rhythm,imagery and sentence based on the "Meaning Beauty" of "Three Beauty" translating theory produced by Mr.Xu Yuanchong.In the case of using different English translation methods,it shows that the relationship between the effect of English translation and“Meaning Beauty”of original sentences.Simultaneously,it is identified the best English translation methods andexpressions for translating various frontier-style poetries of the Tang Dynasty.And as a whole it analyses various English Translation Styles of Frontier-style Poems in Tang Dynasty,which inquires into the characteristics and Application of three English Translation Styles: Rhyme Translation,Non-rhyme Translation and Free style Translatio,in order to provide reference for English translation of Tang Dynasty frontier-style poetry in the stylistic framework.Third chapter discusses the strategies and methods of English translating sentences and images of frontier-style poetries through analyzing the characteristics of sentences and images of frontier-style poems in Tang Dynasty.The translation of English verses involves Additional translation,saving translation,adjusting the sentence order,literal translation and free translation.Image translation involves transliteration,literal translation,free translation,fuzzy translation,transliteration combined with literal or free translation and annotation translation.In view of the concrete application of these methods in the practice of translating frontier-style poems into English in the Tang Dynasty,it is necessary to make a flexible choice with the aim of being the most close to the "beauty of meaning" in the translation of frontier-style poems of the Tang Dynasty.Through the above three chapters,it detail analyses and explains to the rhythm,style and method of translating frontier-style poems into in Tang Dynasty,which mainly discusses the restoration degree of the translation of frontier-style poems in Tang Dynasty to the original poem "the beauty of meaning" in order to understand the methods and Strategies of translating Frontier-style Poems in Tang Dynasty,thus,It provides practical ideas and methods for the creative English expression of Tang Dynasty frontier-style poetry translation.
