Analysis Of The Status Quo Of Qingdao's Religious Affairs Management And Research On Improvement Countermeasures

Religion is an ideology and a force that exerts a significant influence on people's inner world and on social harmony and stability at large.Hence it is a major task for any country and political party to properly handle the issues relating to religion.Since the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh CPC Central Committee,Qingdao has maintained the harmony and stability in religion.Fully implementing the basic guiding principles of the Party on religion,Qingdao administers religious affairs in accordance with the law and appropriately manages the prominent issues.However,religious affairs administration is facing a myriad of new issues and challenges that have emerged from the quickening urbanization as well as the changing circumstances domestically and globally.Set in such context,this paper analyzes the current state of religious affairs management in the lens of public administration in Qingdao,one of the first coastal open cities in China,and proposes recommendations for improvement that may add more approaches and substance to the religious affairs management in coastal open cities.There are four chapters in this paper.The first chapter covers the purpose of the study,domestic and foreign literature review,as well as the objectives,content,key points,possible innovations and the shortcomings,and methods of the study.The second chapter enunciates the concept of religious affairs,religious groups,religious affairs and the management of religious affairs according to law,as well as the necessity of implementing religious policies and strengthening the management of religious affairs in our country.The third chapter analyzes the current state of religious affairs management in Qingdao,explains the situation of various religions in Qingdao,and summarizes the achievements concerning the religious affairs management in Qingdao,and identifies the problems and main causes.In the fourth chapter,the paper puts forward some suggestions on how to improve the management of religious affairs in Qingdao,including drawing on the practice of religious affairs management in other countries,transforming the government functions,harnessing the role of religious groups and religious activities,further integrating and optimizing human resources,and improving the level of management service,which can be helpful for exploring the new approach and methods for managing religious affairs in the new context.
