After World War ?,the United States and the Soviet Union moved from cooperation to confrontation. Then, the Cold War broke out and gradually spread to Asia.In 1951,at the San Francisco conference, the United States initiated the process of participating in regional affairs in Asia. She began to build the Cold War system on the basis of the “San Francisco Peace Treaty”,namely the San Francisco Treaty System, which is based on “hub and spokes” military alliance system and economy network. The system aims at maintaining the hegemony of American and the advantage position in the Cold War in Asia. However, with the end of the Cold War,the historical legacy of the San Francisco Peace Treaty System still affects the security of the Asian region, especially China's surrounding security.First, many territorial disputes in the Asian region originated from the vague wording of the post-war Japanese territorial provisions in the "San Francisco Peace Treaty".Second, the United States' Cold War order system triggered the Taiwan issue and exacerbated the splitting state of the Korean Peninsula, which is still unsolved.Thirdly, the strategic layout framework for the United States during the Cold War in Asia still exists to deter rivals. Therefore,by summarizing the specific content of the San Francisco treaty system, this article explores how these historical heritages affect China's surrounding security under the new environment.
