The process of Chinese teaching, full of humanistic emotions and thoughts, is dynamic and lively, consequently leading to mental development. Therefore, this process is a kind of research which can not be entirely anticipated and involves the art of supposes in advance and generation. Based on literature review and graphic analysis, this article not only has sorted through the previous research on supposes in advance and generation in the past decade and made a summary on the research situation, but also endeavors to make inspections on different historical phases so as to catch a glimpse of the general development of Chinese teaching in China in the past ten years.What gives the rise of this research is explained in the introduction part which also contains historical partitions of the research on supposes in advance and generation from2000to2010. The first three chapters respectively expound the research on its motion, essence and method:the eighth curriculum reform of the basic education, the background and basis of this research, has a positive interaction with the latter and vice versa; and all the research on supposes in adance and generation, though different in their own way, inevitably address to the discussion on the teacher-student relationship in Chinese teaching. As for the method of supposes in advance and generation, the key point lies in making teacher-student dialogues effective, setting flexible supposes in advance when interpreting texts and achieving excellent generation when applying teaching wits. The last chapter suggests some points for further research.The conclusion part points out that there is a pressing problem confronting the research:what is the criterion of handling supposes in advance and generation? More research is needed to explore and clarify the criterion.
