This paper uses the method of questionnaire investigation and interview, to research on Chinese learning strategies of students of learning Chinese as a third language in Singapore International School(Kelapa Gading, Jakarta). Participants in questionnaire investigation is including Primary 4/5/6 and Secondary1/2/3. Interviewees in the interview are responsible Chinese teachers. This survey is collecting the self-assessment from SIS(Singapore International School) students about Chinese learning situation, and analyzing Chinese learning strategies in third-language teaching and learning environment, which including Chinese learning strategies general tendency, comparison between primary and secondary students, as well as influence by personal factors, like gender, learning time, learning motivation. In addition, the author makes suggestions on the learning strategies training suggestions based on the conclusions drawn from the study, in order to inspire and help the learners to use and identify Chinese learning strategiesThis paper is composed of five chapters.In the first chapter, the author explains research background, related concept, the significance and researching methods of this paper.In the second chapter, the author gives an overview of research design and implementary steps for the questionnaire investigation and interview.In the third chapter, the author analyses the data from the questionnaire investigation and interview, and makes an empirical study on the Chinese learning strategies.In the fourth chapter, the author puts forward the suggestion of Chinese learning strategies training based on the empirical data.In the fifth chapter, the author summarizes the conclusions of this paper, and points out the shortcomings of this study and expectation about further study.
