Calculation is throughout the whole teaching of maths in primary school. It's of great importance, which can be reflected in the following two aspects. First, the calculation has been throughout the whole teaching in primary school and accounts for a large proportion of the textbooks; Second, calculation is of key and difficult points in the whole primary school mathematics teaching. Calculation is the foundation of learning maths and other subjects, even a basic life skill. The ability of calculation will influence the study achievement and many aspects of daily life as well.Calculation is of great importance. However, the ability of calculation of primary school student is in trouble, such as low accuracy of calculation and lack of proficiency in calculation. In order to conduct in-depth research, I read a lot of literature, conducted related tests, questionnaires and interviews to understand the status of the calculation ability of the primary school in upper grade. Based on the in-depth study of the errors, I analyze the reasons. There are many reasons for the errors of calculation, such as misunderstanding of calculations laws, lack of proficiency of multiplying, miscopy of numbers and symbols and font sloppy.Finally, based on the reasons, I propose the following suggestions. First, focus on the development of non-intellectual factors. We can try to improve the students' awareness of the value of calculation to stimulate student interest in calculation and develop the students' good psychological characteristics. Second, improve the students' knowledge structure. How can we improve the student's knowledge structure? We can enable the students to better understand the rules of calculation processing, with emphasis on cultivating students' number sense, students of multiple calculation ability. Third, reduce the impact of objective factors on the ability of calculation of students. Proper demonstration of teachers, the guide for students to the rational use of calculators and so on can reduce the impact of objective factors on the ability of calculation of student.
