Analysis Of The Current Situation Of College Volleyball Development In Sichuan Province Under The Background Of “Revitalizing The Three Major Balls”

Abstract: In November 2014, Sichuan Provincial Volleyball Association issued the "revitalization of Sichuan Volleyball Development Plan(2014-2021)", which aims to change the Sichuan Province from a sport province to a strong province under the national background of China’s shift from a sport country to a sport power. Once Sichuan was famous for its volleyball and volleyball has also been a traditional sport in Sichuan, we need to make contributions in fulfilling this strategic targets. In recent years, Sichuan volleyball develops slowly which can most be seen from the fact that the volleyball in Sichuan lacks the mass base, and the number of people who play volleyball is declining. Recently, in terms of volleyball, the scores of Sichuan team and Sichuan high schools are unsatisfactory during all the national youth volleyball tournament, and high school sport meetings. Therefore, as a province once has a great advantages of volleyball, it’s worthy researching the existing problems of volleyball training activities in Sichuan province.In this paper adopts the research methods including the questionnaire survey, mathematical statistics and logical analysis and so on. The respondents are students in five well-known Sichuan universities, namely Sichuan University, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China(UESTC), Southwest University of Finance and Economics, Southwest Jiaotong University, and Chengdu Sport University. Under the background of the revitalization of football, basketball and volleyball, this paper make a deep analysis on the current status and the development of volleyball in Sichuan Universities and makes conclusions which provide substantive reference to the volleyball development in Sichuan universities.The results show:(1) Under the background of the revitalization of football, basketball and volleyball, the volleyball center has attached great importance to the development of the campus volleyball.(2) Under the background of the revitalization of football, basketball and volleyball, most of the colleges and universities have seldom made improvements in volleyball venues and facilities, teaching staffs, promotion, inter-school competitions settings, entry fees and so on.(3) Volleyball resources can not be effectively used in schools and universities, the frequency of visits from sports stars and lectures is too low.(4) Due to increase in the funds of football, basketball, volleyball, resulting in some campus volleyball competitions compared with previous years has increased.(5) Under the background of the revitalization of football, the purpose of carrying out the campus volleyball tournament is not only a competitive sport, but also an excellent exhibition match of volleyball.
