Mass media plays an increasingly important role in the rapid development of urbanization and media as an important social organization,. In 2010, Nanjing won the right to host the second International Youth Olympic Games, which has become a major event in Nanjing's urban life. While the event itself with the natural factors can improve the city identity, also makes it become one of the Nanjing metropolitan newspaper, "Modern Express" golden opportunity at the same time, the newspaper reported that the construction of the original facts also the construction of the city identity. Then how does "Modern Express" build a city identity by the opportunity oof Nanjing Youth Olympic Games?This study selected 387 valid samples from 2010 to early 2015 of "Modern Express" related to the Nanjing Youth Olympic reports.We statistics, mining and analysis then by the content analysis and other research methods."Modern Express" considers the relationship between the Youth Olympic topics and Nanjing city life.During these four years, Nanjing Youth Olympic Games always be in the city public issues.It tends to link them to the general public and Nanjing city itself in order to establish urban identity.The construction of the city identity in report is achieved through the construction of urban identity, urban environmental identity and urban cultural identity. Showing a charm and vitality Nanjing city environment by showing a series of full, active Nanjing people.Then eventually jointly achieved the construction of Nanjing city identity. Through the comprehensive consideration of the construction practice of the urban identity, the author summarizes the two major strategies of the newspaper in the process of the construction of the city identity, namely, the natural strategy and the mobilization strategy, which can enhance the effect of identity construction.I believe that a case about Nanjing Youth Olympic Games study of "Modern Express", not only provide us a very typical mass media city identity construction case--a large events of urban identity construction practice sample, and also let us know the static, dynamic and convergence of the media city construction. Mass media's city identity construction is a complex and systematic process. The author hopes that this study can construct identity better, for dwelling to find their own homeland identity and have better life in the city..
