Due to the increasing popularity of smart mobile devices, the amount of mobile data communications has led to explosive growth of data traffic in cellular networks.Cellular networks have to face the challenge of huge communi cation traffic.Offloading data traffic through opportunistic communication among smart mobile devices is a promising solution to partially solve this problem since there is almost no monetary cost for it.Large amount of smart mobile devices can communicate each other using Bluetooth or WIFI Direct in short communication range and they can form an opportunistic mobile social network. The opportunistic communications among smart mobile devices can effectively reduce the amount of cellular data traffic. However, mobile users take a long time to obtain useful data. How to reduce data communication latency faces a great challenge. At present, there are just a little researches on the data communication latency in mobile opportunistic networks.Based on the above, this paper made the following contributions:1.Passive-Request Data Forwarding for Data Offloading in Mobile Social Networks. This paper proposes two Passive-Request data dissemination protocols named PRRDP(Passive-Request Round-Robin Data Forwarding Strategy),PRDP(Passive-Request Random Data For warding Strategy)respectively.Which all participating nodes acquire data in a passive manner. These two algorithms are compared with the existing basic algorithm PDP(the algorithm does not have the concept of an intermediate nodes.and its seed nodes send the data only when coming into contact with the Luser nodes). In the simulatecd campus environment, extensive NS-2 simulation results show that PRRDIP is the best protocols.2.Active-Request Data Forwarding for Data Offloading in Mobile Social Networks. This paper proposes three Active-Request data dissemination protocols named RRDP(Active-Request Round-Robin Data Forwarding Strategy),RDP(Active-Request Random Data Forwarding Strategy)and LDP(Active-Request LRU Data Forwarding Strategy)respectively. All participating nodes acquire data in an active way.Extensive NS-2 simulation results show that RDP costs less time than other protocols.3.Semi-Active-Request Data Forwarding for Data Offloading in Mobile Social Networks. This paper proposes three Semi-Active-Request data dissemination protocols named ARRDP(Semi-Active-Request Round-Robin Data Forwarding Strategy),ARDP(Semi-Active-Request Random Data Forwarding Strategy)and ADRRDP(Semi-Active-Request Double-way Round-Robin Data Forwarding Strategy)respectively.Which all intermediate nodes acquire data in a passive manner, and all use nodes acquire data in an active way.Extensive NS-2 simulation results show that ADRRDP is the best. The experimental results show that using Semi-Active-Request Data Forwarding for Data Offloading in Mobile Social Networks is the best.Extensive NS-2 simulation results show that(1)On the campus situation, the user's access delay of PRRDP is 229.71%more than RDP and ADRRDP is 54.22%less than the RRDP.(2)In the vehicular environment, the user's access delay of ADRRDP is 45.07%less than the RDP.
