| The relationship between labor force and industrial space economy has always been a hot issue in the new economic geography. In this paper,we will introduce a new perspective to study the relationship between the two types of labor force and the spatial structure of the industrial economy.Firstly, the paper makes clear the concept and connotation of industrial agglomeration and heterogeneous labor. Then,it uses statistical methods to describe and illustrate the evolution of China’s regional industrial economic disparity.Thirdly, the general equilibrium model of the new economic geography is constructed, and the numerical simulation is used to discuss the two types of labor force flow and their mutual influence. Finally, the paper establishes the panel data model to demonstrate the relationship between labor mobility and industrial agglomeration, and puts forward relevant policy recommendations based on the conclusions. The main body of the article is divided into theoretical model analysis and empirical analysis. In the part of the theoretical model, this paper introduces heterogeneous labors in the basic co-periphery model and constructs a general equilibrium model.By studying on the flow of the two kinds of labors and their mutual influence,we find that high skilled labors and low skilled labors flow, with low transaction cost, can promote the industrial agglomeration of the labors inflow region, and that high skilled labors and low skilled labors, with high transaction cost, need to gather to a certain extent,so as to promote the high skilled labors flow, and then promote industrial agglomeration. In the empirical analysis section,I use panel data of thirty provinces and cities from 2002 to 2012 for empirical testing. The result indicates that in the nationwide, the two kinds of flows have a significant positive impact on industrial agglomeration, while there is a mutual influence between high skilled labors flow and low skilled labors flow, and that in the eastern and central regions, high skilled labors have a significant positive impact on industrial agglomeration, while low skilled labors have significant negative impact on industrial agglomeration, but in the western region, two types of labors fail to have a significant impact on industrial agglomeration. |
