In the 1990's, the concept of employee engagement was proposed by foreign scholars, and gradually it has been considered as one of the important factors affecting the enterprise and has become a focused issue in business circle and in the practice field of management consulting. Employee engagement is given more and more attention in the management field and consulting firm. Some concerned practice researches have confirmed its importance, but so far a systematic theoretic system did not formed yet.Also in the 1990's, there was a birth peak of one-child generation in China. They grew up with superior living and learning condition, which beyond the imagination of the previous generations at the same age. Most of them publicize individuality and respect for freedom and equality. Nowadays they have gradually stepped into the society, while researches shows their features of high turnover, weak organizational commitment and even lazy working when in their position.On the basis of in-depth studies on the existing research of related engagement theories and organizational behavior characteristics of the new generation employees, the paper makes a deep research in a large private enterprise, named FES Group in southern Jiangsu. Through the interviews of older staff and new employees, the basic evaluation of the new employees' engagement is obtained. And with reference to domestic and international engagement measurement methods a questionnaire of new generation employees' engagement is designed for the company, which collected 223 valid data. After the reliability and validity test, by analyzing and generalizing the engagement factors of the new generation employees, the main factors affecting the new generation employees' engagement are obtained. The paper also evaluates the influence of these factors on the development of new generation employees and the enterprise, and then proposes rational engagement promotion strategy on this basis for reference. Hopefully the strategy is able to provide help for the enterprises to improve employee engagement and help the sustainable development of enterprises.This paper will ultimately play a role in the following three areas:(1)For FES companies, this paper comprehensively and precisely analyzes the new generation of FES by way of engagement study for the first time and proposes an upgrading strategy, which is the epochal innovation project of human resources management of the last 50 years for FES Company;(2)For private enterprises, this paper proposes the innovation program by using organizations working to boost private real economy, enhance cohesion and stimulate staff's greatest potential, which significantly promote the construction of enterprise culture of private enterprise;(3)The paper further enriches the study of the new generation employees' management of private enterprises in developed areas of China and particularly enhances the research on engagement promotion strategy.
