Within the revolution and the reinforce of China's commercial bank's stock allocating system, the control mechanisms of credit risks develop continuously, the rate of NPL decreases dramatically, and the quality assets are managed effectively by all the employees. Nevertheless, due to China's large capital size, when compare to the other foreign commercial banks as well as some well-known national commercial banks, China's small to medium-scaled commercial banks still exist some weaknesses which are very obvious; therefore, the mechanisms the banks use to control credit risks can be improved to a higher level.Bank of Nanjing has both the characteristics of commercial banks and local banks, which mean Bank of Nanjing is able to provide variety of services to all the customers in the society, including both enterprise and individual customers; it is worth to mention that majority of the clients come from Jiangsu Province. However, it is still a big challenge for Bank of Nanjing to transform from a small sized bank to a large scaled commercial bank due to several reasons, for example, the highly competitive circumstance among banking industries and the slowdown of world economy. Therefore, in order to well support the main tasks, Bank of Nanjing has realized that risk management is very essential and all the employees have the common sense that risk control will become the key success for completing the tasks. As a result, the essay will focus on researching Bank of Nan jing's credits risk control system; as what I have thought, developing consolidated control system is meaningful and has the value of practical application in the future. The essay first illustrates the background and the meaningfulness of the topic I chos e, and then introduces the different mechanisms the commercial banks use around the world. The easy also demonstrates the implication of commercial banks' credits risk control in detail by classifying them in different categories, and in turn to find the r easons of why researching these mechanisms from investigating the world economy as well as the bank itself. After doing field trip and finding a lot of peer-reviewed information online, I have a well-recognized view of the status-quo of Bank of Nanjing's credits risk control system. By referring to foreign banks' credits risk control experience, I am able to point out the way to optimize the credits risk control system, and generate some technical ideas for practical use. Additionally, combining CITI Bank's experience of credits risk control to Bank of Nanjing can yield twice the result with half the effort.
