In 2015,China has still remained the world's first status of production and sales.Since the reform and opening up,Chinese automobile industry had a rapid growth. The fierce competition in the global automotive market makes the automobile enterprises of our country realize the group and scale quickly.Even if the automobile industry has got such a great progress,it does not mean that China has become the world's auto power. There is a large number of automobile production enterprises in China, and it is scattered. At the same time, there is a lot of automobile production workers and production equipment in the low efficiency of production and management. Not only they can't withdrawal from the market, but also can't change the management condition of automobile production enterprises. Therefore, discussing the scale efficiency of the automobile enterprises, not only can provide more information about the enterprise scale efficiency for investors and managers,to make the correct implementation of expansion strategy and enhance enterprise scale economy better;but also can help the government understand the automobile enterprise scale efficiency,in order to make the correct policy adjustment, promotion economic development of Chinese automobile industry. In the paper, though researching the scale economy of automobile enterprises,we can get a certain theoretical value and practical significance. It can enrich the automobile enterprise scale economy theory, and guide Chinese automobile enterprises to achieve sustained and healthy development. The paper analyses technical efficiency and scale efficiency of automobile industry based on the summary of previous studies on scale efficiency of the automobile industry, and guided by the scale efficiency theory, using the Data Envelopment Analysis technique and an analysis of Malmquist production index, and draw relevant conclusions:in recent years, the overall performance of Chinese automobile enterprises is backward;the most Chinese automobile enterprises have not yet reached the optimal size range, most of them are in the increasing stage of scale returns;Chinese automobile enterprises scale efficiency is relatively high and easy to improve compared with technical efficiency and pure technical efficiency. Then the paper employed Tobit regression model to verify the impact of these factors on the automobile enterprises' scale efficiency. Then obtains the results that total property cycling rate has significantly positive correlation on automobile enterprises' scale efficiency, liability ratio and cost to sales ratio has significantly negative correlation on automobile enterprises' scale efficiency. This paper is divided into six chapters:the first chapter is the introduction, mainly elaborates the research background, significance, method, content and the innovation and the insufficiency of the paper. The second chapter introduces the theory of scale economy, which is the theoretical basic of the following parts. The third chapter is a brief analysis about the current economic situation of Chinese automobile industry, such as production and sales, import and export, investment factors, industrial output, the added value of total profit and market entry of the industry scale and benefit analysis of the overall exit. The fourth chapter makes empirical analysis by using the Data Envelopment Analysis technique and an analysis of Malmquist production index. The fifth chapter employed Tobit regression model and the data of the fourth chapter to verify the impact of these factors on the automobile enterprises' scale efficiency, and come to the relevant conclusion. The sixth chapter is the conclusion of the paper,in the part, the paper put forward proposals to government, automobile production enterprises by summarizing above.
