In September 1987,promulgated by Basel Committee,Core Principles for Effective Banking Supervision has the reputational risk as one of the eight risks that commercial banks need to properly handle.In January 2009,reputational risk has been listed in the second pillar of core capital comment draft.On August 25,the same year,the commercial bank's reputation risk management guidelines,No.82,issued by China Banking Regulatory Commission,has been clear about the reputation risk,the definition of reputational event and major reputational event.The responsibility of the board of directors and the commercial bank's reputation risk management mechanism has also been clearly defined in order to put forward the basic framework of the construction.Reputation,as an intangible asset,must be taken more and more seriously in the process of the daily operation and management in the commercial bank.At present,commercial banks in our country are being well developed.Channels and institutions of private capital into the banking have already been opened and the reform of rural credit cooperatives into commercial banks is being accelerated.At the same time,China banking Regulatory Commission speeds up the reform of organizational structure of commercial banks.As a result,the monopoly of state-owned banks has gradually lost their competitive advantage.However,small-sized and medium-sized financial institutions developing too fast also bring new risks to our banking industry.Overall capital debt ratio and non-performing loan ratio compared with corresponding period of last year is much higher and undoubtedly have a rising trend.In addition,the number of banking institutions and the amount of staff are also increasing.With computer information technology in the commercial Banks widely used,traditional business has been brought a new change.The online and mobile payment business are increasing year by year.The combination of the international finance with banking business has altered the traditional banking industry.The liquidity risk,operational risk,personnel moral risk,legal risk and other risks is rising year by year.With complex causes of reputational risk often triggered by other risk developing and combined with the characteristics of new media,reputation management of commercial banks has a new challenge.In this paper,the first chapter mainly introduces the research background and meaning of the article,the research progress about reputation at home and abroad.In the study of commercial bank's reputation,this paper introduces the research objectives and plans to solve the problem of research and the proposed methods.On the basis proposed out previously,the main framework is given in this chapter;Chapter 2 for reputation related theory is introduced,by describing the reputation theory in action,transaction,information dissemination and organization management.It is concluded about the definition and main characteristics of reputation,as well as the importance of commercial bank's reputation;The third chapter and the forth chapter are mainly talking about the situation and the challenge in bank reputation management;With a simple example,the fifth chapter is making sense clearly that effective reputation management could encourage the investment behavior and improve the reputation of commercial banks;Chapter 6 using factor analysis based on stakeholder theory,has constructed an evaluation index system of reputation of commercial banks;According to the result of factor score,the fifth chapter gives a result;Chapter 6 and chapter 7 puts forward policy suggestions,research conclusions and deficiencies.
