Research On The Entrepreneur Tacit Human Capital's Influences On The Performance Of The High-tech Start-ups

Science and technology constitute a primary productive force.Innovation in science and technology can provide a strong engine for economic development.It is noted that high-tech start-ups play an irreplaceable role in the transformation of scientific achievements into productive forces so as to facilitate social progress.So the sound growth of the high-tech start-ups influences science and technology development of a country,and moreover,determines,to an enormous degree,the country's economic development and its international competitiveness.However,due to the fact that starting high-tech enterprises is absolutely a high-input and high-risk profession and the great uncertainty and fierce competition in the high-technology industry,many problems do occur to high-tech start-ups during their growing up.Meanwhile,researches on tacit human capital theories have been deepening in recent years.And tacit human capital varies from one enterprise to another;to put it more clearly,tacit human capital of an enterprise cannot be copied by others,so it is extremely important to the sustainable growth of enterprises.Therefore,much efforts have been made in the thesis to the research on the correlation between the entrepreneur tacit human capital and performance of the high-tech start-ups.The structure of the thesis is as follows.Firstly,the thesis summarizes the domestic and foreign research on entrepreneur tacit human capital in the previous time and elaborates on the concept and dimension divisions of entrepreneur tacit human capital;secondly,much efforts have been devoted to the illustration on how the entrepreneur tacit human capital and its dimensions are correlated with the performance of the high-tech start-ups respectively and how its dimensions are correlated with each other,which leads to hypotheses that constitute the empirical study structure.Thirdly,in the part of empirical study,tabulations and questionnaires are designed by reference to those previously made by domestic and foreign scholars and data collected from some start-ups in Beijing and Tianjin that have been involved in the questionnaire survey are presented and analyzed with the method of SPSS21.0 and AMOS21.0.Finally,the thesis verifies the four hypotheses and brings to following conclusions:1.The entrepreneur tacit human capital consists of three dimensions including tactic knowledge,entrepreneurship and social capital.2.Tacit knowledge,entrepreneurship and social capital,all the three dimensions have significant positive effects on the survival performance of the high-tech start-ups.The entrepreneurship is the most influential factor,then the social capital and tacit knowledge at the bottom.3.When it comes to the growth performance of the high-tech start-ups,both the tacit knowledge and entrepreneurship have significant positive effects on it,while the positive influence that social capital has on it is not marked.4.All the three dimensions are positively correlated with the performance of the high-tech start-ups.The entrepreneurship is the most influential factor,then the tacit knowledge and social capital at the bottom.5.With regard to how the entrepreneur tacit human capital affects the performance of the high-tech start-ups,both entrepreneurship and tacit knowledge mainly exert its influence on the growth performance,while social capital does on the survival performance.To sum up,the concepts of the entrepreneur tacit human capital and the performance of the high-tech start-ups have been provided and the correlation between them have been analyzed in a proper manner:logical reasoning and explanation has been made on the links between the three dimensions and the performance of start-ups respectively;at the same time,relations among the three dimensions themselves have also been illustrated in detail;moreover,even extents of influence of the three dimensions have been given a contrast analysis.In turn,theories on the entrepreneur tacit human capital have been extended to some degree.However,there are still some aspects which need improving and completing.For example,no attention in this thesis has been paid to the research on factors influencing the formation of the entrepreneur tacit human capital or how it acts on the enterprise achievement level,both of which are in need of further study.
