Food is the basic of the people,security is the basic of the food.In recent years,with the frequent occurrence of food safety incidents,the supervision of public opinion in the field of food safety has been a hot topic of media and social concern.These food safety incidents not only bring health threats to consumers,but also bring serious punishment to the enterprises involved.Food safety problems broke out again and again,food safety events have been the whole society attention while the news media undoubtedly played a vital role.The strong intervention and reports of News media meet the public's right to know and fulfill the media's social responsibility,which plays an important role in public opinion.With the influence of public opinion and behavior on the public,Due to the media coverage of food safety incidents,the objective of the enterprises involved in more public concern,reducing the information asymmetry of consumers,and by directing the public to respond to behavior,the media makes the event negative impact on the enterprise infinitely,enterprises may be subject to the market discipline more seriously.Therefore,this paper raises two questions: whether the market can impose disciplinary action on enterprises that have food safety problems;whether the media attention will deepen the market discipline effect.The first chapter of this paper is the concept of food safety,media attention and market discipline.The second chapter combs the relevant literatures between the three,and the literature is mostly in the media attention angle,and the empirical research on food safety and media attention is less.In the third chapter,this paper introduces the background of food safety and media attention.the chapter Mainly introduces the food safety supervision system and the function of the change,the media industry system change.In the fourth chapter,the paper analyzes the relationship between food safety,media attention and market discipline,and puts forward the hypothesis.In the fifth chapter and the sixth chapter,the relationship between food safety and market discipline is taken as the negative effect of food safety and market discipline,and media attention is taken as the adjustment variable to increase the negative effect of food safety and market discipline.This article in 2006 to 2015 in the China Quality Inspection Network,the State Food and Drug Administration and the State Administration of Quality Supervision,Inspection and Quarantine published on the official website of the food safety issues listed companies as research samples,the occurrence of food safety events listed companies and media The data of the attention variables are collected by hand,and the research model is established according to the research assumptions and verified by SPSS statistical software.The conclusion of the process was based on descriptive statistics,correlation analysis,regression analysis and robustness test.In the seventh chapter,the conclusion of the research is summarized,and the shortcomings of this paper and the prospect of future research are put forward.Finally,according to the results of food safety,media attention and market discipline,it shows that food safety is negatively correlated with current corporate performance and market reaction,that is,the listed companies that have occurred in food safety events will reduce the performance of the enterprises and have a negative market reaction.In the media attention regulation under the market discipline will increase,that media attention will make food safety and business performance,food safety and market response to the negative effect is more significant.According to the conclusion of this paper,the corresponding policy suggestions are put forward,which is of practical significance to the solution of existing food safety problems in China.Finally,according to the results of food safety,media attention and market discipline,it shows that food safety is negatively correlated with current corporate performance and market reaction,that is,the listed companies that have occurred in food safety events will reduce the performance of the enterprises and have a negative market reaction.In the media attention regulation under the market discipline will increase,that media attention will make food safety and business performance,food safety and market response to the negative effect is more significant.According to the conclusion of this paper,the corresponding policy suggestions are put forward,which is of practical significance to the solution of existing food safety problems in China.
