Research On The Location Choice Of Chinese Commercial Banks' Transnational Operations

Under the background of economic globalization,cross-border business has become an inevitable choice for the survival and development of Chinese commercial banks.The rapid increase of China's economic strength,the continuous improvement of the international status of the currency,the increasingly frequent activities of enterprises and residents outside the region have brought great opportunities for the development of the current commercial banks.Therefore,how to make the expansion of the overseas market better through location choice has become the urgent problem to be solved.Firstly,this paper summarizes the current situation of Chinese commercial banks in the form of data and charts.Secondly,it summarizes the characteristics and problems of Chinese commercial banks in the perspective of location choice.Then it analyzes the factors that influence the location choice of cross-border business.From the perspective of politics,economy,culture and law,this paper selects four key factors and uses them as examples to explore the ways of these factors.Followed by the introduction of Standard Chartered Bank and Citibank's case,this paper makes a comparative analysis of their cross-border business path,subdivision steps,entry mode and strategic planning.Finally,this paper takes all these into consideration and offers a proposal containing five aspects---developing strategies,paying attention to the key markets,studying environment,choosing the suitable entry mode,strengthening bid preparation for the location choice of Chinese commercial banks.
