| As a high-efficiency horticulture crops,watermelon has played a huge role in promoting farmers’ rapid income,meeting the growing needs of the people and developing agricultural modernization.Henan Province is the main producing areas of watermelon,has a strong competitive advantage.Zhoukou City,Henan watermelon cultivation of the most competitive areas,mainly in Taikang County and Fugou County.In this paper,the history,regional distribution,variety structure,cost income,planting mode,sales system and comparative advantage of watermelon industry in Taikou County,Zhoukou City were analyzed systematically.With the help of agricultural industry and related economic theory,And the field to visit the research,from the perspective of economics to explore the inherent law of Taikang County watermelon industry development and the status quo for the development of Taikang County watermelon industry to provide scientific theoretical guidance and decision-making reference.(1)Statistics on the current situation of watermelon industry development at home and abroad shows that during the 2010-2015,Henan watermelon in the country’s market share keeps at 20.00%stably,while Zhoukou City,Henan province,the main producing areas of watermelon industry,2015 in the province’s watermelon market shared of 25.52%,indicating that Taikang County area has the regional advantages in watermelon cultivation.(2)Through the field visit and the questionnaire,combined with the statistical data collected from the literature,this paper analyzes the present situation of watermelon industry in Taikang from 2011 to 2015 in the aspects of comprehensive comparative advantage,planting mode and sales model.Scale comparative advantage index(SCA)of the scale of watermelon cultivation in Taikang County was kept at about 4.60(about 1.70 in Henan province and around 1.80 in Zhoukou City).The efficiency comparative advantage index(ECA)was basically kept at around 1.00(about 1.20 in Henan province),and comprehensive comparative advantage index(CCA)is about 2.10(about 1.50 in Henan province and around 1.30 in Zhoukou City),indicating that the comprehensive comparative advantage of watermelon cultivation in Taikang County is obvious;the statistical analysis of planting pattern shows that the yield of watermelon intercropping pattern is higher than that of single planting mode,and the sales system is dominated by melon-watermelon market-purchaser mode.(3)The internal conditions and external factors of watermelon industry development in Taikang County were analyzed by SWOT analysis method.The results show that Taikang County has excellent natural resources,abundant labor resources and scientific and technological resources,etc.,but the existence of agricultural extension system is not perfect,small production and large market contradictions,selling melon difficult,low scale,planting natural risk and price risk higher disadvantage.External development opportunities are supported by the national policy of the development in agricultural modernization,unsaturated watermelon market,comprehensive planting efficiency and "Internet +agriculture" rapid development,but Taikang County watermelon cultivation costs and lower awareness threat the development of watermelon industry.prominent between small-scale production and big market,the sell is difficult,the degree of scale is low,the risk of planing and price is big and so on.In the outside Taikang country has the opportunity to develop watermelon industry including the national development policy support of agricultural modernization,the watermelon market is not saturated,comprehensive income is high and the development of "Internet + farming"is rapid.But the rising cost and the low awareness threatening the development of watermelon industry in Taikang county.(4)A comprehensive analysis of watermelon industry in Taikang County shows that there are continuous obstruction and natural disaster in terms of the planting,the concentrated during the period of listing,the selling price is low,the contribution of cooperatives is small,in terms of sales issues,and the weak government support in terms of policy issues.(5)As for the problems in the development of watermelon industry in Taikang County,the following recommendations is made:In terms of the planting,we can strengthen the scientific management,using a reasonable rotation and the intercropping patterns,to improve the efficiency of land production and guide melon farmers to reduce open-air cultivation area,promoting watermelon facilities cultivation technology to make sure the sustainable development of watermelon industry;In terms of the sales,we can strengthen the construction of service management system and stagger mature period to alleviate the problem of selling melon and explore new models of watermelon sales;In terms of policy,we can speed up the land circulation,promote large-scale production,develope the agricultural insurance to deal with natural risks,cultivate watermelon cultivation of professional farmers. |
