Present Situation,problems And Countermeasures Of The Development Of Watermelon And Melon Industry In Dingbian County

Watermelon and melon are important crops in China.Based on a systematic analysis of the production status of watermelon and melon in China,Shaanxi province and Yulin city,this paper makes an in-depth analysis of the development status of watermelon and melon industry in Dingbian county.The watermelon and melon industry in Dingbian county has developed rapidly in recent years.In particular,the watermelon industry planted 75,000 mu in 2018,1.9 times as much as that in 2014.The melon production area was 5,000 mu.Of all the melons,the thick-skinned melon is the most.The melon in Anbian is a special kind of thin-skinned melon of Dingbian county.In recent years,the watermelon and melon industry in our county has developed rapidly.However,in the development process of the watermelon and melon industry,there are problems such as poor production base infrastructure,low proportion of professional farmers,low degree of cooperation,weak driving force of cooperative organizations and leading enterprises,and low technical benefits.Therefore,field visits and investigations were conducted to discuss the overall situation and relevant countermeasures of the watermelon and melon industry in Dingbian county.The investigation results are as follows: first,the area increases unceasingly,the cultivated area increases,the benefit becomes good.Second,the main varieties of watermelon are mainly medium and late maturity,but few early maturity varieties and characteristic products.watermelon and melon is mainly thick-skinned.Third,the main management body of watermelon and melon is mainly composed of farmers and cooperatives.Farmers are old and the proportion of professional farmers is low,but in recent years,the government has increased policy support,and the proportion of professional farmers is increasing.There are 1480 cooperatives in our county,and only 9 cooperatives are involved in the business scope of watermelon and melon.According to the survey,currently,the service organization of watermelon and melon in our county is still in the development stage,the number is not large,only a few have formed a certain scale,mainly for standardized seedling cultivation,in the production,harvesting and sales,can not meet the current industrial development service needs.
