China is a traditional agricultural country, the development of the rural areas plays a key role on the ascension of our country's overall economic strength.Economic development inevitably requires capital, however,in many rural areas of developing countries, the development of the rural financial market is greatly restrained due to the low level of the credit market development.Borrowing is the most active part of the financial market, thus, ignoring this phenomenon will seriously hinder the development of rural areas. In familysizeral, due to the lack of appropriate collateral, farmers' demand for loans from formal financial institutions is not met,so in reality, most farm households turn to borrow from informal channels. In recent years, both the government and financial institutions,or experts and scholars, have been trying to explore how to solve the problem of the financing difficulties of farm households.Unfortunately, most studies focused on the reform of the rural financial system, while a very few focused on the perspective of social network, thinking about how to solve the problems of farmer household borrowing. This article, starting from the social network and farmer household borrowing behavior theory, based on social network theory, and according to the social network measurement standard, set up two kinds of social network relationships, namely strong social network relationship and the weak social network relationship,in order to determine the influence of different social network on the lending behavior of farm households.Chinese Family Panel Studies(CFPS)in 2012 were selected as the research data, descriptive statistical analysis of samples selected from the database showed that strong social network relationship are more common than the weak social network relationship in rural areas, farm households tend to borrow from informal channels rather than formal channels, and social networks influence borrowing of farm households to a certain degree, etc.Besides,in order to guarantee the rigor of the conclusion, logistic model were used to analyze the influence of social network on the possibility of farm households getting borrowing, tobit model were used to analyze the influence of social networks on the loan amount obtained by farm households.Literature synthesis method, interdisciplinary study, empirical study and normative study method were combined to comprehensively analyze the influence of social network on China's household borrowing. The results show that the social network has significant positive effect on borrowing behavior of farm households, among them, the strong social network relationship has significant positive influence on the possibility of getting a loan, but have no significant influence on obtaining the loan amount; On the other hand, weak social network relationship has significant positive effect on both the possibility of getting loan and borrowing amount. When investigating the influence of social network relations on lending from different channels respectively,we found that weak social network relations have significant positive effect on loan availability and loan amount of both formal and informal channels.Based on the conclusion of empirical analysis, discussing on macro, middle and micro levels,we explored how to put forward the corresponding policy suggestions: The government,as policymakers, should consider the characteristics of China's rural society in policy making;financial institutions,as the main suppliers of funds, should design the financial products according to the characteristics of farm households;Farm households,as the main demanders of funds, should pay more attention to the cultivation of family social network in daily life.
