Study On Emergy Analysis Of Nanping Agro-ecosystem

Agro-ecosystem is significant to effective utilization of agricultural resources,sustainable development of agriculture and living environment of human beings.So far,most researches on agro-ecosystem have been focused on agricultural production efficiency and investments from social economy.However,natural investments to agro-ecosystem have been neglected.Emergy(Embodied Energy)method was adopted in this paper to study on agro-ecosystem and its sustainability through evaluating natural agro-ecosystem,agricultural production efficiency,and sustainable development level.It was conducted from both natural ecosystem and social economy aspects.This study will be useful for governments they plan and forecast agricultural development,and esTab.lish corresponding policies and regulations.Emergy method,together with Literature Synthesis,Investigation method,Comparative Study method,Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis method,and Theoretical and Empirical Analysis method were used in this study.Firstly,input-output emergy of the agro-ecosystem in 1990 and from 2001 to 2011 was analyzed.Secondly,Emergy index of the system was esTab.lished to evaluating natural agro-ecosystem,agricultural production efficiency,and sustainable development level from two aspects,including time series and regional comparison.Thirdly,factorial analysis method was used to study on influential factors to output emergy of the agro-ecosystem by using SPSS software.The result includes:(1)the input emergy was mainly affected by renewable resource investment(R)while the effect of purchased resources(F)was growing;(2)the output was increasing;animal husbandry was becoming the largest part in agriculture in Nanping while the forestry was growing fast;(3)the percent of purchased input were increasing and the percent of modernized agricultural input was also increasing and acting as a more and more important role to the output of the eco-system.However,the agro-ecosystem had a low level of resource utilization,modernized agriculture and economic development;(4)the agro-ecosystem had good natural ecological conditions and self-sufficiency.It performed good at system sTab.ility and sustainable development capacity.Production structure and sTab.Ie production dominance of the system should be paid more attation.In order to promote sustainable development of Nanping's agriculture in future,we should promote agricultural modernization and take into consideration both needs of high yield and high efficiency of agriculture and ecological sustainable utilization of resources.
