Research On Poverty Reduction Effect Of Chinese FDI To Tajikistan

With the accelerating process of economic integration,Foreign Direct Investment(FDI)is becoming increasingly important in the world economic development as its main force.Chinese FDI to Tajikistan also plays a more and more important role in deepening bilateral economic and trade cooperation.“One Belt And One Road” has been operating about three years,which gotten more than 100 countries and international organizations’ active support.And More than 40 countries and international organizations have signed cooperation agreements with China.“One Belt And One Road” embodies the consensus of the international community,initiates all the members share the development achievements belongs.Tajikistan is one important member.So the discussion about how to let Tajikistan people get fruits of cooperation is of great significance to propel the “One Belt And One Road” smoothly.Poverty is one of the puzzles in Tajikistan,the research on poverty reduction effect of Chinese FDI to Tajikistan and suggestions on further perfecting the investment cooperation are very vital to further reduce poverty in Tajikistan and then bring benefits to general public in Tajikistan.This paper analyses poverty reduction effect of Chinese FDI to Tajikistan from the overall level and specific industry level.From the overall level,through the establishment of long-term equilibrium model(cointegration relationship),short-term vector auto-regressive(VAR)model and its impulse response analysis and variance decomposition,it turns that Chinese FDI to Tajikistan are effectively promoting the overall poverty in Tajikistan whether long-term or short-term.From the specific industry level,it divided poverty reduction effects of Tajikistan into three categories:remarkable,fair and indistinctive.And then it analyzes investment cooperation achievements between China and Tajikistan.It obtains that Chinese enterprises plays important roles in the fields of Tajikistan,which include Telecommunications,finance,construction,mining,manufacturing,electricity,heating gas and water production and supply industry,transportation and warehousing and so on.These enterprises promote poverty reduction of employees who work in these fields.Base on the analysis of changes in poverty of Tajikistan and Chinese FDI to Tajikistan and Poverty Reduction Effect of the latter,it brings forward the following countermeasures: solidifying political mutual trust,deepening bilateral economic and trade cooperation relationship;setting up the mechanism of regional investment cooperation,improving investmentenvironment;optimizing industry choices of investment cooperation,enhancing sense of responsibility of enterprises;improving investment methods,improving investment efficiency.
