Evaluation On Geological Popular Science Tourism Routes

With further development of the tourism industry,the more attentions have been drawn to the quantity and education effect of tourism by the governments and travel companies.Tourism for carrying out popular science education has been not only the important direction of reform of tour supply structure,but the mode of leisure which satisfies personalized tourism of the broad masses continuously.And also education department proposes that outdoor education activities(i.e.study tour)should be promoted in senior and junior school education as a compulsory courses,which provides a broader market for development of popular science tourism.Geopark as a new type of tourist destination,is a perfect spot for launching popular science tourism.One of its building goals is to be the popular science education base with the theme of popularizing geological knowledge.The characteristic products provided by geoparks to tourists are the science popularization of geology touring routes.While tourists are the direct consumers of those products,and the main body of tourist activities.However,there are lots of problems derived in the course of developments of the geological popular science tour.For example,how people perceive the science popularization of geology touring routes,whether those routes can satisfy the demand of every tourist or not,what countermeasure the administrative department should take,etc.Given this,this paper establishes evaluation index system and model of the science popularization of geology touring routes with scientific method.Taking the Yuntaishan World Geopark as an example,the author evaluated its science popularization of geology touring routes,so as to gain practical significance for improving and perfecting these routes and provide significant theory reference for planning and design of touring routes in other analogous geoparks.Firstly,this study analyzed and summarized the huge quantity of domestic and foreign reference data about popular science tourism and design and assessment of tour routes systematically,and sorted out the conceptions and theories about geotourism,popular science tourism and design and assessment of tour routes.And on this basis the author has defined intention of a concept about geological popular science tour,and deciphered the components that consisted of these routes,laying a firm foundation for this study;Secondly,using documentary analysis,combined with some theoretical knowledge on geotourism and tourist route,the author further discussed the factors influencing the science popularization of geology touring routes,selected the relevant evaluation indexes with Delphi method and mathematical statistic analysis,and constructed the evaluation index system.Then index weight in different levels was set up with Delphi method and Analytic Hierarchy Process,developing an evaluation mode;Thirdly,taking the Yuntaishan World Geopark as the research object,the author focused on two science popularization of geology touring routes,the Hongshi gorge and Tanpu gorge,which were so famous that there were large numbers of tourists visiting these two places every day.The author investigated comments of people who had visited the sites through questionnaire survey,and evaluated and analyzed the influencing factors on the basis of the evaluation index system and mode previously established;Finally,the author analyzed evaluation results of the science popularization of geology touring routes,worked out problems existing in the design of these two routes,and proposed some corresponding improved measures and countermeasures.
