The geological popular science is the most fundamental function of the Geopark, and the design of the travelling routes has great importance in the whole Geopark’s popular science tourism activities. The combination of the two can not only contribute to the adaptation to the fast development of the declaration and construction of the Geopark, but also promote the preservation of the geological legacies and enhance the tourist’traveling experience. This paper conducts case study about this aspect and builds the basic paradigm.This paper combines the geological popular science with the design of the travelling routes and synthesizes the relevant theories and methods. This paper finally establishes the professional way by first building up the weight system of the geological heritage’s evaluation with the AHP, then calculating the value of the geological heritage by Fuzzy Mathematics and finally getting the optimal tourist routes through Operations Research’s optimal path computing method.The paper puts the Hubei Shennongjia National Geological Park as the research object. First of all, according to the distribution, intensity, and the interrelation between the partitions of the six typical geological relic landscape types of typical geological section, ancient landscape, geology landscape, mountain landscape, water landscape and the hazards of geological, the Geopark is divided into six sections. The Yaahp software is adopted to construct the evaluation system to assess the value of the geological remains to obtain the weight of each evaluation factor. Then based on the fuzzy mathematics, the natural value of the resources, the environment conditions of the resources, tourism development conditions and the comprehensive evaluation value of the six scenic geological relics are calculated by the Excel software data processing. And then combine the score with the hard index that obtained by questionnaires into the shortest path algorithm of the Dijkstra. Finally, the optimal route of geological popular science tourism in the Geopark is concluded.
