With the rapid development of global economy and fierce competition in the market,enterprises pursue to satisfy customer requirements through improving quality and efficiency,and to promote their competitiveness by reducing cost and increasing the flexibility.Lean Six Sigma Management has been becoming one of the most outstanding management methodologies and applied for improving and optimizing the company management system and change the company culture to secure the long-term sustainability.With taking one project aiming at reducing casting parts lead time as an example,the thesis introduces the Lean Six Sigma and sufficiently verifies the feasibility of Lean Six Sigma theory in the heavy industry.The chapter I introduces the objective and meanings of the study and the study contents and methodology.The chapter II introduces the Lean development history and Lean thinking,and Six Sigma development history and methodology and Lean Six Sigma combination tool boxes and Lean Six Sigma application.The chapter III through the case study way to provide A company casting division because they have long parts delivery lead time and can't meet the customer delivery requirement,so prepare a lot of safety stock,but finally some inventory can't be utilized anymore to become the slowing moving or dead inventory,the chapter firstly with the qualitative way to analyze the problems which are included the forecast and planning system and production control system and logistic system,Chapter IV and Chapter V with Lean Six Sigma DMAIC model to analyze the problems with quantity way and provides improvement suggestions.Finally the thesis makes the conclusion and provides the next study direction.The thesis innovates in three aspects: 1)it reached the lead time reduction and achieves a breakthrough result by lean six sigma methodology application;2)compared with traditional AIAG PFMEA,the PFMEA deployed in the thesis defines more clearly the process input failure mode and realizes the real process prevention control;3)it proves an efficient way of deploying Lean Six Sigma methodology in heavy industry.
