In recent years,with the rapid development of characteristic agriculture in Xinjiang,not only the development of our economy,the income of farmers,but also the food basket,fruit basket.The output of most characteristic agricultural products in our region occupies more than half of the total output of the country,but because of the frequent fluctuations in market prices,it seriously affects the income of farmers and the enthusiasm of production,and affects the steady development of agriculture in our region.The price risk of characteristic agricultural products is an important part of the market risk,and the factors that cause the price risk are production factors,market factors,production cost factors and policy factors.Agricultural insurance as the main means to protect the interests of the farmers more covers the production risk,market risk prevention for the lack of,and the existence of asymmetric information,disaster survey claims cost is high,so the development of characteristic agricultural products price index insurance in our region has a necessity.At the same time,the characteristics of agricultural products price index insurance with a variety of risk diversification,operational,and I have a good space for development,it is feasible.Abroad to carry out the price index of agricultural insurance,China has more than and 20 provinces and cities in recent years to carry out price index insurance,and have achieved good results.This paper analyzes the features of agricultural production,price fluctuation,summing up other areas implementation experience,in the production of special agricultural products,price volatility principle,choose cotton,red dates,pear,grape,mutton,raw milk as the research object,design.In the future to promote my area characteristic agricultural products price index insurance to expand the implementation and puts forward the following suggestions: first,improve the legislative protection,increase government organization role;second,design and publish a fair and transparent price index;third,the establishment of a variety of risk dispersing ways.
