Research On The Factors Affecting The Financial Transparency Of Non-profit Organizations

In recent years,with the rapid development of civil non-profit organizations in our country,the problem of low financial transparency in civil non-profit organizations has gradually exposed.This problem directly leads to the decline of social credibility of civil nonprofit organizations.It's our urgent need to improve the financial transparency of civil non-profit organizations.Therefore,this paper takes the foundation as an example to study the influencing factors of financial transparency of civil nonprofit organizations.Based on the theory of principal-agent theory,information transfer theory and stakeholder theory,this paper expounds the basic concepts of the definition,characteristics and definition of financial transparency of civil non-profit organizations.On the basis of analyzing the mechanism of financial transparency,this paper analyzes the factors influencing the financial transparency of civil non-profit organizations and makes an empirical test on the factors influencing the financial transparency of civil non-profit organizations.This paper aims to explore the influencing factors of the financial transparency of non-profit organizations,and constructs the theoretical analysis framework from four aspects: the organizational characteristics of civil non-profit organizations and internal governance,external governance and regional development level.Through the analysis of the factors which influence financial transparency,this paper deduces the financial transparency decision mechanism of non-profit organizations.The results of this study show that the financial transparency of civil nonprofit organizations is significantly related to organizational scale,organization age,audit quality,media supervision,economic development level,government supervision,residents' education level,supervisory board size,internal system construction and donation dependency,but is not related to the number of meetings of the council.Subsequent studies by dividing the total sample into sub-samples of the public foundations and sub-samples of the private foundations find that external factors can affect the financial transparency of the non-profit organizations more than the internal factors.Finally,according to the research conclusion,this paper puts forward the suggestions to improve the financial transparency of civil non-profit organizations.
