Research On Energy Cooperation Between China And Other BRICS Countries

BRICS countries have both exporting countries of energy production and importing countries of energy needs,there are complementary advantages of energy endowment.Energy cooperation has gradually become an important part of the cooperation between the BRICS countries,strengthening energy cooperation between China and other BRICS countries,it will be helpful for alleviating energy shortage in China,improving energy structure and ensuring energy security;and deepen the existing financial national cooperation mechanism to enhance the BRICS countries in the global energy management capabilities,as a whole to promote the construction of a new global energy order.This paper analyzes the current situation of energy cooperation between China and other BRICS countries from three perspectives of energy cooperation scale,cooperation mode and cooperation mechanism.This paper analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of energy endowments in BRICS countries,and quantitatively analyzes the competition and complementarity between China and other BRICS countries' energy tradet hrough explicit comparative advantage index ? modified comparative advantage index and trade complementarity index.The present situation and problems of energy cooperation between China and other BRICS countries are discussed objectively and adequately in this paper.Energy cooperation between China and Russia has basically played the advantages of Russian energy endowment,cooperation in a wide range of areas,large scale and deep level;China's oil trade with Brazil has been developing smoothly,the two sides should continue to strengthen cooperation in the field of crude oil trade,technology exchange and new energy in the future;China and India,South Africa's trade potential is limited,should develop new energy cooperation.And focusing on the existing problems in energy cooperation that different interests exist in all countries,lack of complementarity in energy trade,imperfect multilateral cooperation mechanism,as well as less cooperation in the field of new energy,it provides that we should improve the mechanism of substantive energy cooperation,promote cooperation and development of multi-level energy,broaden the mode and field of energycooperation,and strengthen financial support for energy cooperation to promote the deepening of energy cooperation in BRICS countries.
