In order to promote the rapid development of foreign direct investment,our country puts forward the initiative of "the Belt and Road",which has tremendous development potential to provide broad space and a wide range of market opportunities.In this background,how to make full use of resources and choose a better location are essential parts of strategy to ensure its smooth operation.This essay starts from the relevant theory and literature reviews on the location choice of overseas investment.It also makes a deep analysis on the space layout as well the industry layout of Chinese foreign direct investment.On the basis of the definite area layout and relevant factors,this article selects 61 countries along " the Belt and Road" and uses 12 years panel data(2004-2015),taking the economic,political and technical factors as variables,to reveal the relationship between the location choice of foreign direct investment in our enterprises and each variable.Our direct investment in the belt and road is more prone to the developing regions,and the economic influences the choosing direction of the location.The political and social situation has a significant positive effect on our foreign direct investment.According to the empirical research of the influential factors on the location choice and the factor analysis,the essay evaluates the investment environment of countries along " the Belt and Road".Results show that the political economical and foreign investment attraction factors have a high weight.Asia has a high ranking,central and eastern Europe has a great developmental potential.Providing operational recommendations aimed at different investment motivations and challenges with the purpose of offering reference for our enterprises in terms of the location choice of FDI.
