Both China and India belong to Asia, and either of them is the country with an ancient civilization in the world. They all have huge economic scales and their growth momentum will become more and more powerful. In September and October 2013,when President Xi Jinping visited Kazakhstan and Indonesia,he proposed the construction of the "Silk Road Economic Zone and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road" initiative. The initiative has received the response and support from lots of countries in the world.India's geographical position determines that it is the natural partner of China in the construction of "One Belt and One Road".In recent years, the trade data between China and India is not coordinated with the huge economic scale of the two countries.India is the strongest economy in South Asia, and China's largest trading partner in South Asia. The construction of the "One Belt and One Road" will bring new opportunities and challenges to the trade development of the two countries.Firstly, this paper summarizes the related literature reviews from the following three aspects:literature review related to Sino-Indian trade relations, literature review related to the influences of "One Belt and One Road" strategy on Sino-Indian trade;literature review related to the study about bilateral trade influencing factors.Secondly, this paper analyzes Sino-Indian trade status in quo under the background of "One Belt and One Road" from five aspects. The first two aspects elaborates important position of India in "One Belt and One Road" construction, and the effects of "One Belt and One Road",such as opportunities and challenges,on Sino-Indian trade. Then, this paper makes a study of Sino-Indian bilateral trade overview, characteristics in Sino-Indian trade structure and demand differences, foreign trade dependence and trade potential between China and India.Specifically, when describing the bilateral trade overview,it mainly uses bilateral trade volume, balance of trade and trade growth. Then,it analyzes the Sino-Indian trade demand from the point of trade structure characteristics and demand differences. At last it analyzes the foreign trade dependence and trade potential between China and India. And it concludes that the bilateral trade volume does not match the economy scale of the two countries, and there is great trade potential between China and India.Next, this paper analyzes the influencing factors on the bilateral trade volume between China and India empirically. When choosing explaining variables,it considers the bilateral status in quo, trade features etc.,and it also follows the principle of data reasonable and available. The variables chosen are economic scale of China and India, population of China and India, foreign trade dependence and cooperation level between China and India. The explained variable is the bilateral trade volume between China and India.By using OLS method,it gets the corresponding regression result. From the result,we could know that the population of India has negative effect on the bilateral trade volume between China and India;and India's economic scale,Chinese population, foreign trade dependence of India and Sino-Indian cooperation level have positive effect on the bilateral trade volume between China and India.Lastly, this paper looks forward to the future of Sino-Indian trade from the perspectives of common interests and cooperation space. Then this paper gives suggestions from the aspects of economy and non-economy based on the research above.
