| Since the establishment of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change(IPCC),CO2 emission has been hotly debated. How to deal with the continued growth of global CO2 is a serious challenge for all parties.Based on the data of population, economy, and CO2 emissions of 177 countries from 1995 to 2015,this paper has gone through three steps of analysis.First, this paper compares the CO2 emissions of countries(regions)with different income levels from the temporal and spatial scale. Then, this paper uses statistics and econometrics methods to explore the cooperative response between CO2 emissions and economics, and further determine the stage of CO2 emissions in different income countries. Finally, from the perspective of equality, this paper measures CO2 inequality and income inequality, and the response relationship between them are determined.Understanding the CO2 emissions of different income level countries is important for the formulation of emission reduction policies. It also laid the foundation for the promotion of a global low-carbon economy. The specific conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)There are obvious differences in CO2 emissions of different income level countries(regions).High-income region(HI)have successfully controlled the CO2emission,but the total emission and per capita emission still very high,so it’s still have to bear the major CO2 emission reduction pressures. The upper medium income(LMI)and lower medium income regions(UMI)have become a major source of CO2emissions,which is the backbone of future CO2 reduction efforts.Compared with other income level regions,CO2 emissions from low-income region(LI)contribute little to the world, but their future CO2 emission growth potential cannot be ignored. From the perspective of industrial CO2 emissions, the proportion of CO2 emissions in different industrial sectors varies greatly, and there are similarities and differences between different income levels.(2)There are obvious geographical distributions and spatial classification differences in CO2 emissions and their increments.East Asia and North America are the world’s major CO2 sources.Africa contributes very little to global CO2 emissions.Asia and Latin America are important growth poles for CO2,total CO2 emissions and per capita CO2 emissions show positive growth. The CO2 emission reduction work in Europe has remarkable results, the total CO2,per capita CO2 and Unit GDP CO2(CO2intensity)showed significant negative growth. From the spatial classification,we can find that different income countries are in different classification states, and the classification types are closely related to the income level.(3)The Carbon Kuznets Curve(CKC)hypothesis was confirmed, and different income level countries have different CO2 emission stages. With the increase of income level, the country’s CO2 emission stage is more idealized. From the perspective of equality,CO2 emissions and income are developing in a more equitable direction, and inter-regional inequality contributes significantly to overall inequality. There is a positive relationship between CO2 inequality and income inequality, and as the income level increases, the positive relationship becomes stronger. |
