Empirical Research On Legal Risks Of Overseas Investment By State Grid Corporatation Of China

With the rapid development of world economy,foreign investment and globalization have become the trend of the world.In these contexts,Chinese government is vigorously implementing the "going out" strategy to encourage foreign investment.Meanwhile,global electric power industry is soaring because of the fast economy development.China has the largest and most complicated power grid in the world and Chinese power companies are becoming stronger.Therefore,accelerating overseas investment on power project is not only significant for the development of power enterprises,but also has far-reaching impact on the international operations of Chinese enterprises,the government's energy security and energy policy.However,Investments on energy infrastructure are usually made with large amount of money but long payback period.Risk assessment and control of overseas power projects should be paid great attention to.This paper made analysis on the characteristics of overseas investment made by State Grid Corporation of China and comparison between the risks in developed countries and developing ones.Then,through two specific cases,risks may encountered by different investment methods in different countries were elaborated.Finally,corresponding suggestions were offered in the paper.
