With the rapid development of economic globalization, more and more manufacturers outsource logistics activities to third-party logistics(3PL)to improve the operational efficiency, reduce operating costs and monitoring costs. At the same time, outsourcing logistics activities and streamlining the organizational structure enable manufacturers to focus their limited resources on their core businesses for manufacturers. In recent years,China's manufacturing sector has booming. At present,China has become the world's largest manufacturing center. However, with the expansion of business scale, logistics activities have become a burden for enterprises.More and more enterprises want to streamline the organization and become the global leader of the advanced manufacturing base by outsourcing logistics activities. Thus, how to get the success of logistics outsourcing has become a major issue that manufacturing enterprises need to consider. From the reality of the outsourcing situation, although the logistics outsourcing activities to the enterprise has brought a lot of advantages, the outsourcing of logistics activities is not always able to get success in business. Therefore, whether from the theoretical research or practical application,it is necessary to make a study of impact factors of logistics outsourcing success. In our research,250 effective samples were obtained from the listed manufacturing companies. The research method of structural equation model is used to study the impact factors of logistics outsourcing success.Firstly,by adopting transaction cost theory(TCT)as the theoretical foundation,we build a theoretical model to investigate the effect of transaction(attributesasset specificity and technological uncertainty)on logistics outsourcing success.Secondly,we also test how top management belief mediates the impact of transaction attributes on logisticsoutsourcing. Finally,we propose a conditional process model to test how a contingency factor(supplier presence)moderates the base model. The research indicatestransaction attributes significantly affect the success of logistics outsourcing.Asset specificity and technological uncertainty have a significant positive effect on logistics outsourcingsuccess.By examining the mediate effect of top management belief,we find thattransaction attributes(asset specificity andtechnological uncertainty)have a positive indirect effect on outsourcing success through top management belief. The results indicate top management plays a vital role in logistics outsourcing activities. The support of top management will promote the success of logistics outsourcing. Finally,by examining the moderate effects of contingent factors(supplier presence),we find that the mediate effect is amplified when supplier presence is high. The research of this paper enriches the theory of logistics outsourcing, and also provides practical guidance for the management of manufacturing enterprises. In addition, this paper also put forward a series of suggestions on logistics outsourcing from the empirical results.
