Symbol、Gaze And Identity:Ethnic Travel Research In The Perspective Of Communication Study

Travel is an activity that travelers leave their own domicile and then go to another place to seek for a different experience,which means that travelers’ flee from their real life temporarily..With the development of the new age,travel,as a way of communication and leisure,is gradually become an activity people can easily reach.Ethnic travel refers to a travel to the ethnic area.As an important category of travel,ethnic travel implies a more obvious preference for difference and includes travelers’ extraordinary needs and experience.Begin with the theory of Communication Study and Culture Study,This research aims to discuss the inner sense of the behavior of ethnic travel and hopes to get the common feature of travelers’ ethnic travel behavior.Taking Tibet travel as example,this research makes contents analysis based on the Tibet travel notes and the interview material.After analysis,this research concludes the inner sense of traveler’s behavior into three aspects:symbol col lection,gaze at ’the other’ and self identity.The research regards these three aspects as a process from the exterior to the interior and believes this is a logical route to explain travelers’ behavior of ethnic travel.
