The Chinese government has been concerned with environmental problems all the time and enterprise is an important subject of environmental problems,the environmental performance of enterprises will improve the status of environmental improvement to our country,According to higher-order theory,managers' values and perceptions are closely related to individual characteristics,will female executives have an impact on enterprise environmental performance?This paper attempts to study the impact of female executives on corporate environmental performance.Specifically,the following three major issues are studied:first,under the model of three motivation of corporate social responsibility,whether female executives will enhance the environmental performance of enterprises?Second,women executives in different positions have different powers,and there are differences in the right to make business decisions.Is the higher the female executive position,the more significant the impact on the company's environmental performance?Third,external governance forms an external pressure on the environmental performance of enterprises.Then,does external governance affect the relationship between female executives and environmental performance?In order to study the above problems,this paper starts from the higher-order theory,combined with the theory of corporate social responsibility and from the "motive ability pressure" three dimensions,using 2010-2015 heavy polluting industries listed companies in stock markets of Shanghai and Shenzhen as a sample to study the relationship between female executives and environmental performance.The conclusions are as follows:(1)Female executives can significantly improve the environmental performance of enterprises;(2)The higher the female executive position,the more obvious the promotion effect on corporate environmental performance;(3)External governance can significantly enhance the positive correlation between environmental performance and female executives.In addition,this paper uses the surrogate variables of environmental performance as the robustness test,and the empirical results are consistent with the above.This article enriched the relevant literature of environmental management accounting and female executives,and provided a new perspective and way for the Chinese government to improve the environmental situation...
