With the development of global economic integration, the impact of economic opening on China has been deepened, and the link between economic opening and wage gap has been paid more and more attention by scholars. On the one hand, for the widening of the degree of wage inequality, most scholars believe that the skill gap between skilled and unskilled workers is the main influencing factor. On the other hand, intellectual property protection as a core factor in the current economic open background, its role in the development of the whole economy can not be underestimated,is to achieve long-term stability of economic growth an important factor.Throughout the study of domestic and foreign research, the study on the gap between skills and salary is mainly from the traditional trade theory and skills-oriented technological progress in two aspects of research, for intellectual property protection and wage gap between the less research.Based on this, this paper studies the impact of the wage gap on the gap between the direct and indirect effects of intellectual property protection from the perspective of intellectual property protection.Based on the analysis of Shiyuan Pan,Hengfu Zou and Taillog Li(2012)model,this paper expands the improvement of the level of intellectual property rights, which will increase the level of knowledge wage gap.Secondly, the improvement of intellectual property protection will cause Skill bias technology advances, which will result in increased skill gap. After the mathematical model is deduced, the mechanism of intellectual property protection to the skill gap is analyzed. Finally, the panel data of 28 provinces and cities in China are collected to verify the above-mentioned propositions by examining the direct and indirect effects of intellectual property protection on the wage gap.And put forward the corresponding policy suggestions for the above theoretical and empirical analysis. The main conclusions of this paper are as follows:The improvement of the level of intellectual property protection will lead to the increase of skill wage gap.In particular, its mechanism of action is divided into direct effects and indirect effects.Under the direct effect of intellectual property protection on the impact of the skills wage gap,the skill gap will widen when the rate of technical patent matching with the skilled labor force increases more than the increase in the width of the technical patent that matches the unskilled labor force. With the increase of the level of protection of intellectual property rights,There will be skill-oriented technical progress so that the gap between the skills to increase. The main ideas of this paper are theoretical analysis, model derivation and empirical analysis.Combined with the above ideas, the main contents of this paper are the following five chapters. The first chapter mainly analyzes and clarifies the research background and significance of the article. It points out the specific background of intellectual property protection and skill wage gap,and analyzes the subject on the basis of the original research.Secondly, this paper puts forward the research ideas. The second chapter is the review of the literature, first of all,the main terms of the article, intellectual property protection,skills-oriented technological progress and skills wage gap to do the concept of interpretation, and to elaborate their current research situation.Secondly, the relationship between intellectual property protection and skills wage gap, intellectual property protection and skills bias technology and wage gap were sorted out. This paper reviews the literature and clarifies the research direction of this paper. The third chapter mainly makes the analysis of the mechanism of the article, and introduces the theoretical model of the article, the concrete derivation content, and obtains two propositions about the skill wage gap.The fourth chapter is the empirical test of this article, the intellectual property rights protection gap in the skills of a set of models in the test, the relationship between them for empirical analysis,in the stability test and Hausman test basis On the linear regression, the analysis of the results of China's intellectual property from the direct and indirect will lead to the widening of the gap in skills,so that the proposition was confirmed. Then,in the fifth chapter of the article, the article concludes the conclusion and the policy suggestion and puts forward the shortcomings of this article and the prospect of the future research.
