In recent years,non-conventional emergencies have frequently entered the public's vision. In addition to the advancement in communications, making such incidents easier to expose to the public, the frequent occurrence of such events is also a non-negligible factor. The research under the perspective of group vulnerability considers that the disaster-affected groups in emergencies are vulnerable:after the disaster, the group exhibits irrational behaviors such as panic and scramble;most people are weak in disaster relief operations and can only passively wait for professional relief forces;Relief forces that deviate from official guidance will cause man-made secondary damage to the victim. This study believes that groups in emergencies can form effective structures through self-organization to deal with non-conventional emergencies. In order to study the differences in the behavioral effectiveness of different self-organizing groups,Study 1 analyzed the non-conventional self-organizing groups in documentary footage from the perspective of a complex adaptive system, and adopted a grounded theory to construct self-organizing groups suitable for unconventional emergencies. The structural development model attempts to identify the key factors affecting the effectiveness of group behavior.Under the theoretical framework of Study I,Study 2 and Study 3,starting with the characteristics of group structure in the reorganization phase, the interaction behavior of self-organizing groups in the environment simulated by non-conventional emergencies was analyzed to explore the relationship between effectiveness of group behavior and interpersonal relationships, the emergence of behavior patterns and the division of labor. The results show that the better the interpersonal relationships are,the fewer the behavioral patterns emerge, and the lower the effectiveness of group behavior is.The higher the level of population differentiation, the higher the effectiveness of group behavior.
